Rebel Rebels - Manchester 1976 - 79

Using the original David Bowie 7" vinyl single 'Rebel Rebel' as a backdrop, here's a dedication to all those who shared my love of Manchester clubs The Ranch Bar and Pips Roxy Room and the venues, The Electric Circus and Rafters during the late 70's. Thank you to all who took these photos and shot the films - without whom..... A note about this Rebel Rebel track, The original master for this so...
David Bowie - All The Madmen
Переглядів 6 тис.10 років тому
A song about David's brother Terry, or indeed anyone's brother, sister, parent or child who was shockingly institutionalised in mansions cold and grey, with additional inspiration from the Bunuel & Dali film 1929 'Un Chein Andalou' - 'zane zane zane, ouvre la chein' An alleged outtake - or not this version of 'All The Madmen' is interesting none the less. The spoken verse 'Where can the horizon...

David going down on micks guitar is a clip I'm still tryna find
The man was a genius and is missed by many people not least his family and friends
Strange thing to be filmed all the time, especially when trying to interact and work creative ideas out. I don't even like my photo being taken. Ronno was unique. Love this sound he had.
Love Micks Hull accent.. Proper northern fella.. He was an outstanding musician. Missed very much❤
What a lovely bloke, would’ve loved to sit and chat and strum with this guy. Gets me kinda choked up
MIck turned simple bowie songs into rock anthems. RIP
Such and underrated presence in rock history . We know Bowie, few know Mick and his involvement
Thanks for this post. What an incredible guy. So talented. This was a classic post to hear Mick discussing his technique and listening to playing! WOW...what a talent. Thanks for sharing...fantastic.
I just love this. Thanks Mick Ronson!
That haunting solo he did at the end of 'Moonage' ...!!! WICKED ! He WAS Spiders from Mars !!...featuring David Bowie.
I wonder if people realize that this is a Morrissey song from back when he had Alain Whyte and Boz Boorer writing these massive epic guitar driven songs..... ;-) i love hearing Ronson play over this ua-cam.com/video/fPjO0Pukbog/v-deo.htmlsi=jCv9d-tvK_rYE251

Nice to see it's really live: at 2:57 Trevor changes chords too early, then swiftly correcting himself ;-)
I doubt Bowie would have been a success without Ronson's massive early contributions. Not a good song & wrong for his voice..
Ronno that’s why 🙏🎼🇬🇧
Sounds f'ing raaaaaaaaaaad x10
I could be wrong but if I had a pal like ronson and I had money I would share that is why I'm poor I held people
Mick Ronson musical genius taken much to soon . R.I.P Mick
Tidy!
Mick Ronson is the ultimate 70's riffer. Let's not forgot his solo work though. Music is lethal, though not an original, is the 70's distilled into 5 minutes of utter genius.
I get it
Anybody can but music really takes you other places
That last bit ... I didn't realise he played Ziggy up the staff (as Son House used to say). So I'm not too old to find a new thing lol PS I loved Mick Ronson, one of the guitar heroes of my formative years. Working out how to play Andy Warhol, Queen Bitch, etc.
gracious gifted soul.
Mick was and is such a musical inspiration and now I find out he was really nice bloke too. Thanks for posting this video
He was to bowie as randy rhoads was to ozzy, amazing artist
Man, playing completely dry, through an amp that doesn't really sound like a great amp, and he still gets a cool sound out of it just with his hands, that's a guitarist.
Bowie’s voice and Ronson’s guitar.
Mick Ronson made David Bowie.
A Original !
Please fix sound.
as soon as he started Ziggy stardust I was like 🤯🤯🤯
At 1:07 : )
Only after dark is in my top 20 tunes of all time.Classic.
One of the great hidden gods of rock
Looking like Frank Sinatra's hat, shirt and tie..🙏😌RIP Davey Jones aka David Bowie and Mick Ronson
What a gentle soul Mick was. Sure, Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars was a David Bowie album. But the sound, that sharp, circular saw guitar sound that absolutely defined the album, was ALL Mick Ronson. And for that, we are forever grateful.
first time
Look at 5:13 when he starts playing " Hang on to your self" he starts smiling' his ass off. After all those years, he still got enjoyment from playing a song he helped to create. And his playing is great.Still my favorite. thanks for letting me comment.
This is fucking amazing.
Wearing a great suit, nice looking hair, soft voice with an english accent...then comes a guitar tone just as gnarly if not gnarlier than Malcom Young. So cool.
What can I say
Dang man. Him and Mick did Moz on this one the same way he did Iggy on China Girl.
amazing version of an amazing tune
Stunning
His name was LINDSAY Kemp....
God bless Nick Ronson! National Treasure!🙏♥️
Mick not Nick!🤪
@@jonathanjohnson2138 Hey if you click the three dots all the way to the right next to your comment, you can edit that if you'd like. Just FYI!
The best. Bowie always surrounded himself with the top musicians, but Mick Ronson had a magic no one else did. It’s a shame there could only be one Ronno, but then again it has to be like that, right?
Master.
All the Spiders were down to Earth Northerners, Seduced into Cockney Bowies Dream of Stardom, but in the End They fell by the wayside as Far from being killed Ziggy went on into a multitude of Guises and He Never Looked Back . Thats Showbiz I guess ??
A LEGEND!
Ronno! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
